This will be my first political blog. I have been thinking a lot about politicians lately. I have been disappointed by them many times and I decided I needed to do some research to see if I was being fair. My own congressman seems like a pretty good guy, but whenever I ask him about tech related issues, he seems clueless in his responses. I know he used to work in the tech industry, so I was surprised at first. Two factors mitigate my concerns. I have come to believe the company he worked for is actually more experienced at lobbying than technology. And, I don't really know how he compares to others. So, I plan to produce a voter guide to Texas candidates. I'll get statements from candidates and evaluate how they voted on tech issues. I believe the information can be useful to other Texas voters and that is why I am creating this blog.
I will be rating Texas candidates for the US House of Representatives, the US Senate and some statewide offices. I have looked for a voter guide from someone else that I could refer to. If I am lucky, maybe I'll find one and save myself some work.
